JBL Bar 500MK2 Review: A Fantastic Soundbar System

The subwoofer isn’t any joke, at about 13 x 16 inches and 18 kilos, but it surely’s not one thing you’ll want to maneuver when you get it arrange, and it contributes massively (pun meant) to the depth and breadth of the Bar 500MK2’s sound. With a 10-inch driver, it’s greater than sufficient to get to its claimed 40-Hz ground.

Controls on the bar are minimal, with quantity and enter buttons hidden within the middle of the matte black bar, and an included distant that permits you to regulate settings. There’s a handy LED display hidden inside the proper entrance of the grille that tells you in plain English what’s going on, which is a pleasant departure from many manufacturers’ number of lights and colours.

Jamming On

The spectacular 750 watts of claimed complete output of the speaker and subwoofer actually are a daring departure from any built-in TV audio system. The truth is, for a small bar, the Bar 500MK2 crammed my testing room with a number of the most immersive sound I’ve heard from a bar that doesn’t embrace rear encompass audio system.

It has an uncanny capacity to bounce sounds round you in a method that makes it really feel like they’re genuinely coming from the edges or rear, particularly when enjoying Gran Turismo 7 on PlayStation 5 Professional.

Dolby Atmos results in motion pictures are equally spectacular. Whereas watching my 4K Blu-ray copy of Ford Vs. Ferrari, automobiles zipped by my head in such lifelike element I typically felt like I wanted to lean out of the best way. When listening to music like Agave Fireplace Pit’s “Goodnight,” I used to be impressed by how cleanly it is ready to render the vocal results proper within the middle of the stereo picture.
